Spreading Festive Cheer – Stewarts & Lloyds turns into Santa’s with trucks as sleighs this festive!

This year Stewarts & Lloyds branches went all out to bring much needed festive cheer to the people and charities in the communities in which they operate. December is often an exciting and fun-filled month for South Africans, yet for many children and vulnerable people throughout the country, gifts under the Christmas tree will be scarce on Christmas Day. The Stewarts & Lloyds Christmas drive aimed to change that for the better.

Well done to the Vereeniging Team for their amazing effort this past festive season!
You have won the Spirit Trophy .

Wynberg

Tree of Hope Baby Box was created because the East Rand was devoid of any space where parents intent on abandoning their child, could do so safely.

The Tree of Hope works closely with the SAPS and Edenvale Welfare to ensure that any baby abandoned has the best chance of a good forever family.

This charity also works with mothers who would like to take care of their babies but don’t have the means, by providing monthly care packs and support.

The circumstances that these people endure, including children, are extremely trying, living in tin shacks with no amenities or even running water is a norm for them. Boksburg handed out 80 boxes,  for 56 adults and 24 kids.

Many of these people have never even experienced getting a brand new Christmas Gift before.

All labelled for the specific children they are meant to go to- that is a HUGE achievement.

Kimberley

Stewarts & Lloyds Kimberley decided to brighten up this festive season for the elderly of the ACVV Ons Huis. It is so often that we find those who have given their lives to raising their children and working their whole lives, end up spending their retirement years alone. The Kimberley Stewarts & Lloyds team took it upon themselves to change that this festive season.

Kowa Pienaar provides 24-hour quality medical care for illnesses like; Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, strokes, depression, Parkinson’s Disease, schizophrenia, muscular dystrophy, cancer and brain damage.

Vaal

The Vaal branch chose to assist Resthaven Ministries this festive season after the organization reached out for assistance this festive season.

Resthaven Ministries cares for HIV+ orphans, abandoned children and equally abandoned pensioners. Currently they have 15 children between the ages of 5 – 17 and if 10 out of the 24 of our seniors receive visits from family, it is a blessing. They have 2 homes for the elderly, and never stop receiving calls requesting accommodation. The amount of old people needing assistance boggles the mind!

The Vaal Branch raised R12 000 with their customer days and fun events, and were able to procure beautiful gifts for each and every resident.

Witbank

Witbank put together some exceptionally beautiful gifts for the children of Highveld House, in Witbank. Every child is welcomed into Highveld House – and many, after leaving, report that they still remember the skills they were taught there. Perhaps ever more importantly, they say that their stay at Highveld House improved their lives and changed their attitudes towards life.

The team sourced everything on the wish list and lovingly wrapped and delivered the gifts to bring smiles to the children who have already gone through so much in their short lives. From stationary to personal care items, sweets and toys- festive really started feeling FESTIVE after the Witbank Stewarts & Lloyds team visited the Highveld House!
