| Cape Town branch involved in supplying Irrigation material to Cape Town International Airport - Tuesday, April 12, 2011 “Stewarts and Lloyds Cape Town is proud of our association with Cape Irrigation Systems and the meticulous efficiency of their project installations and their performance reputation,” says Graham Nel, Branch Manager for Stewarts & Lloyds Cape Town.
“The new Cape Town International Airport landscaping project is one that we are particularly proud to be involved in,” he adds. “The system comprises more than 19 000 meters of pipe and related fittings, serving
2 800 sprinkler heads and 166 solenoid control valves. This system is controlled by a central control system that optimises water usage by ensuring that the correct amount of water is applied without under or over watering, and features the latest available technology.”
“Cape Irrigation Systems, one of our valued customers, has been providing irrigation systems on a turnkey basis for more than 20 years out of Cape Town.”
Highly respected in the local irrigation contracting market, they provide a full range of services ranging from residential developments to large commercial and golf course projects. They are recognized by leading American golf course irrigation product manufacturers as select contractors.
They have completed numerous prestigious projects and developments, including more than 20 golf courses in the Western and Eastern Cape.
Their list of high profile projects includes developments in the Century City complex, Arabella Country Estate, the precincts of the Cape Town Stadium complex and two phases of the New Cape Town International Airport. They are also an approved supplier of services to the City of Cape Town.
“Many of their projects have to fulfill strict environmental requirements and in some of these, treated effluent water is used for irrigation purposes, and central control weather monitoring systems have been installed to maximize water savings and still meet the clients’ requirements effectively,” says Graham.
“We look forward to a continued involvement with MD Len Becker, Operations Manager, Charl Le Roux and the team of Cape Irrigation Systems and their projects in the future.”

| STEWARTS & LLOYDS WADEVILLE IMPRESS!! - Tuesday, February 08, 2011Gauteng Government departments are currently undergoing a project aimed at cleaning up boundary fencing of various of their buildings within and around greater Gauteng. This is being done by replacing the old traditional wire, concrete fences and gates with brand new palisade fencing and gates.
A tender for palisade fencing, gates, support material and erection went out in November of last year to all suppliers on the government’s vendor list. One of these suppliers, a valued customer of Stewarts & Lloyds Wadeville, approached the company for a quote and was awarded a tender to the value of over 4 million rand. Other branches within the group who are assisting with this project are Stewarts & Lloyds Fencing and Stewarts & Lloyds Steel Service Centre.
“The turnaround time was fantastic with the support from the group. It was amazing to see how the group worked together as a team, ensuring that this contract is a huge success and that the deadlines are being met,” says Forbes Williamson, Managing Director of the Wadeville branch.

| STEWARTS & LLOYDS LASER PRODUCTS MADE FOR BIG THINGS! - Monday, February 07, 2011“The fact that we have the ability to design and manufacture is one of our biggest advantages. A very experienced manufacturing team together with this, is what puts us ahead of our competitors,” says Roy Matheson, Managing Director for the branch when asked why their customer chose Stewarts & Lloyds.
Hyspec Africa Ltd, an international company with seven branches throughout Africa requested Stewarts & Lloyds Laser Products to design and manufacture tanks for a fleet of articulated trucks in Zambia, which are used as service vehicles, on open cast mines. These service vehicles are used to do a full service on heavy earth moving equipment, on site, without having to take the equipment off site or to a service bay. These service units carry water, coolant, diesel, hydraulic oil, engine oil, rock oil, high volume grease, high pressure grease, compressed air and HP washers. They can also pump and extract waste oil.
Laser Products received the first official order in August of 2010. As this was the first of its kind ever manufactured, the design work took three months and manufacturing of the three units took another 3 months.
Matheson stated that more suppliers in the mining industry in South Africa have shown interest in this product and that the company has also designed and manufactured smaller service units which can be fitted onto 18 and 20 ton trucks. In addition to this the company is currently working on new products for the mines such as free standing diesel, oil and water tanks (above ground) and their very own bulk grease reservoirs.
